The Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah launched a series of retaliatory attacks deep within Israel, hitting several strategic military installations in Tel Aviv and Haifa as part of escalating tensions, reports Press TV.
Late Thursday night, Hezbollah targeted the Tel Haim base in Tel Aviv, which belongs to Israel’s Military Intelligence Division, with a barrage of precision-guided missiles. “At 10:20 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2024, the Islamic Resistance targeted Tel Haim base, located 120 km from the Lebanese-Palestinian border, for the first time,” Hezbollah announced in a statement.
The group also focused its fire on the Stella Maris naval facility northwest of Haifa, launching multiple missiles aimed at critical Israeli assets.
In addition, Hezbollah utilized drones in an aerial strike against the Eliakim base, south of Haifa, reportedly achieving a direct hit. The group confirmed missile strikes on the Shraga military base, situated north of Acre in northern Israel.
In a further show of force, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for downing an Israeli Hermes 450 drone with a surface-to-air missile, demonstrating its ongoing military capabilities.
The strikes also extended to multiple Israeli troop gatherings in settlements such as Hanita, Kiryat Shmona, Yi’ron, Shlomi, Sa’sa, and Dishon. These assaults are part of what Hezbollah describes as resistance against Israel’s escalating military campaign in Lebanon, which began in October 2023 and has so far resulted in over 3,360 Lebanese casualties, including women and children.
Hezbollah’s retaliation, which has involved numerous successful operations against Israeli positions, aims to thwart Israeli advancements into southern Lebanon. Earlier on Thursday, the group launched a missile and artillery attack on the Jal al-Allam site near the Lebanese-Israeli border.
The group further reported an attack on a logistical base used by the Israeli military’s 146th division near the settlement of Netiv HaShayara, northeast of Nahariyya. Hezbollah also carried out a rocket strike on Israeli troops stationed at Dovev Barracks, marking a significant escalation in its campaign against Israeli forces.
